kali's sword: activity 1
The illusion of our individual nature is mirrored in our use of ‘I’. With the word ‘I’ we distinguish ourselves from others. Words separate us and we should take cognisance of the power of words in this illusion of life. The illusion of ‘I’ is also upheld by our separate physical bodies, and we live our lives believing that we are lonely beings with thoughts and ideas that belong solely us. Both words and the visual, physical appearance of separation, help create the sense of ‘I’.
Yet the sense of ‘I’ is a concept only. While it appears real, and it feels real, it is not real. When we undertake a very specific type of scrutiny that we not familiar with, the illusion of individuality is revealed for what it is.
