god in everything by swami vishwaparanthapananda
Yashoda looked in the mouth of Krishna after his brother saw him eating some dirt. She saw within his mouth everything that has ever existed, was existing and will ever exist. She saw all that ever existed or will exist in the mouth of her 1-year-old boy.
He was fresh to walking; yet all things everywhere were imbued in his mouth as He is imbued in all things.
The wetness in water, the heat and light in fire, the firmness in the earth, the vastness in space, the intricacy of the human mind; all is That. All are Him. All have emerged from Him and are in Him and will return to Him. So you also are Him; you have never not been, nor can you ever not be Him.
All in all that is what you are. So the Divine is always playing the game of hide and seek. He is the hunger and emptiness and longing inside of us. He is the determination and drive to uncover the mystery. He also is the mystery.
In the bible it is stated: “Your best works are as filthy rags in the sight of God.” All this means is the more you feed the idea that you exist as separate the more you feel deeply unhappy.
This unhappiness forces you to ask, “Why am I unhappy?”. And if you have the courage and grace to allow yourself to see, then what will become clear is that the pain, suffering, blame, hatred, judgment and confusion are all God's love letters. He is always saying, “When will you see.” So he comes again and again until you see.
